Hawaiian Turkey Tenderloin

Sweet and tangy Hawaiian turkey tenderloin slathered in a pineapple and clove BBQ sauce. Bake it or grill it, it's perfect for family dinners.

Ingredients

  • 2 turkey tenderloins (or about 2-3 pounds)
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 1 tsp minced garlic
  • 2 Tbsp butter
  • 2 Tbsp flour
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 1/2 brown sugar
  • 2 Tbsp cider vinegar
  • 1/2 c pineapple juice
  • 1 Tbsp lemon juice
  • 1/4 tsp ground cloves
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce

Directions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  • In a pot, melt the butter and cook the onion and garlic in the melted butter. Whisk in the flour.
  • Add the remaining ingredients, except the tenderloins, mixing well. Simmer about 15 minutes.
  • Put the turkey tenderloins in a shallow baking dish and pour the sauce over the tenderloin.
  • Bake for 40-45 minutes until internal temperature reaches 165 degrees F.
  • Let meat rest before slicing.
  • This could also be grilled on medium heat, occasionally basting the tenderloins with sauce.
