Nearly 75% of the cost of raising a turkey is feed – and a large portion of that feed is corn. While we do not oppose ethanol or the use of renewable fuels, we want Congress to revisit the Renewable Fuels Standard so that it reflects the realities of a consistently tight corn supply. We’d like to see measures in place that would ensure livestock and poultry farmers have access to corn for their animals, regardless of the corn supply.
