How Poultry Day Works:
After you pre-register and indicate who your legislators are, MTGA/CEAM staff will designate you to a specific group (3-6 people, typically) and schedule appointments on your behalf. We will email you background information and your schedule ahead of time – and additionally, we will meet for a legislative briefing with staff and lobbyist Bruce Kleven prior to your appointments.
8:00 AM—Breakfast & Legislative Briefing – at the Embassy Suites Hotel in downtown Saint Paul
9:15 AM-2:30 PM—Legislative appointments – MTGA/CEAM will schedule these meetings for you, so RSVPs are very important. We’ll focus on members of the agriculture committee, as well as your local legislators.
Lunch—On your own when it best fits in your appointment schedule. MTGA/CEAM will reimburse you for your meal cost.
2:30 PM – 3:30 PM—Poultry Debrief meeting in the State Office Building (room TBD) with attendees to recap your meetings and follow up on any questions and/or requests for information you receive.
Parking—MTGA/CEAM staff will distribute a map of available options, along with event materials and talking points, prior to Poultry Day
Hotel—More details about a block of rooms being reserved for our group will be made available soon. Watch your email / this web page for information.
If you are coming in the evening of February 4, please plan to join us at the Minnesota Agri-Growth Council annual legislative reception, held in downtown Saint Paul at 317 on Rice Park. This is an excellent networking event with good attendance from legislators, their staffers and other agricultural organizations and food companies. The reception runs 5:00- 7:30 p.m. and is complimentary.
